It's election day in the United States. I previously wrote about how Obama was pandering for the Mormon vote. While this post was written during the presidential primary phase of the race, I still stand by it. So, if you are looking for something to do before the election results start pouring in or even while election results are pouring in, I encourage you look back at my previous post on Mormons and Obama.

I love Discovery Network show Man versus Wild. I rarely get to watch it
though. However, am really glad that my wife turned on the DVR for this one.

Just curious as to your views regarding same-sex marriage/ proposition 8 going on in California. As there are "mormons" (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) who don't believe the Church leaders were right in getting involved by encouraging us to take a stand with keeping marriage between a man and a woman. There seems to be a big controversy over this issue, so I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts and opinions regarding this issue.
Interesting post.
Most Mormons are taught to be self reliant and work to get anything. Obama tends to be more socialistic and tends to support programs that give money to poorer people unconditionally with out the hard work part.
Anonymous I and II, I am not sure if you are the same or different people. Both of you bring up pretty serious topics. This blog is focused on oddities of Mormon culture. I would much rather hear what either of you think of seven layer dip or if Barack Obama should should name his new puppy LeKay'nine. In other words, there is a place for both of these discussions, but this time Brigham says, "This is not the place."
I have noticed many many closet mormon Barack supporters coming out since he's been "sustained". I really think it's a combination his Rexburgian first name and the jello thing. Hopefully, jello will finally take it's rightful place at the dinner table of the White House.
A black man as president, highly improbable. A black man as a prophet, nearly impossible. Sure a mormon could accept Barrack as President, just not as easily as the President of the Church.
*haha that would be Barack.
