With Halloween in the rearview mirror, amazingly, some Mormons are already reving up for Christmas. It is hard to believe it, but one of the radio mainstays in Utah has already started playing Christmas music.
Earlier this year, this same radio station--FM 100--set itself apart among radio stations by broadcasting the most spiritual traffic report ever. If you have no idea to what I am referring, you need to listen to this. I thank Kent from South Jordan, Utah for bringing this to my attention.

OH, MY WORD!! That has to be the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life!!
I started singing Christmas music in my community choir at the beginning of Oct. I get to enjoy it for 3 whole months!
Is that a joke?
Laura, I too have wondered if this is a joke, but I do not believe that it is. The most credible source I have seen on this is what appears to an radio industry blog discussing the matter. It can be found here. Regardelss, it made me laugh.
My goodness. I wonder what that announcer was taking that day. I wonder if she still has a job.
BTW, Halloween is not over yet. Over here in India, where no, it is not a national holiday, our school STILL has not celebrated it because it conflicted with Diwali (Indian national holiday). So, we get to do the costume-and-trick-or-treat thing on the 7th of November. At school, because there's nowhere else here you would dare. :)
SAHM
I hear ya about the Christmas thing. Five of my neighbors already have their Christmas lights up.
I am proad to admit that I haven't yet turned on the Christmas music--it is coming though!
I was so singing Christmas music with my family while we were driving tonight. Maybe there is something? :]
I am putting up my Christmas lights this weekend!!! I love Christmas, I start even before Halloween. However, I hate Halloween.
just one station?
Here in Milwaukee, WI, there's 3 stations that have been playing since Nov. 1, maybe even earlier. I'd assume that would be radio station suicide!
We don't have a very big Mormon population here though.
